Family sale after 128 years

Jim Raw-Rees & Co have recently sold Black Lion Cottage, Pontrhydygroes for the Great Great Grandchildern of the original builder/owner Mr John Messer who in 1888 put the remaining lease of the Public House for sale by public auction.

It was bought 128 years ago by Roberts, The Brewers. In 1949 the Great Grandson acquired the premises back for £800. Up until the 5th December 2016 it remained in the family hands when it sold for £170,000.
